These two had me going from the start.  Ryan was convinced he was going to be “Chandler Bing” from the day we met (for those of you who were fans of “Friends”, you know what I mean).  Melissa’s father warned during our second meeting that she’s a blinker.  🙂   They were both great!  No blinking and no “Bing” moments.  The colors in the park were gorgeous that day and even though it was threatening rain, the weather held out and the session went off without a hitch (just a tiny bit of rain for about a half a second).  I had a lot of fun walking around with the two of them and can’t wait for their wedding next year!

This tree is always my favorite in the Fall. 🙂

Have you heard, yet, about the most fabulous wedding resource magazine to hit our area?  Well, if you haven’t and you’re getting married, you need to check it out…now.  🙂  Last June, I was on my way to a wedding when I received a phone call.  A phone call that had me intrigued to say the least.  It came from Jennifer Kollar, a writer and publisher who along with Karen Luke were in the process of creating a premier wedding magazine to be used as a resource guide for brides and grooms in the Eastern Ohio and Western Pennsylvania area.  For those of you getting married locally,  you may have noticed this is something our area is seriously lacking.  The “newspaper” guides are truly lackluster and so most will pass through them once, but they are not usually something you see sitting out on the coffee table with the likes of InStyle Weddings.  There is no “The Knot” for our area as there is for the Pittsburgh area, at least there wasn’t anything even close – until now.

In their search for two partner photographers to fit the magazine’s style, they had come across my website and when we met, impressed me with their knowledge and their prototype of the magazine.  By the time I left the meeting, I was so excited.  Their vision of what it would be was so well thought out.  Along with Terri Roncone, an amazing photographer based in Eastern Ohio, we had a couple of fabulous photoshoots featuring the latest fashion for the brides and grooms to add to the gorgeous layout.  Whenever called upon, both Terri and I provided images from real weddings or engagements and some advice on the latest trends in wedding photography.

But it’s obviously way more than photography.  There are true talents in all facets of the industry from exclusive reception venues and caterers to florists to jewelers…  It’s everything a couple could ask for from cover to cover. In fact, when you look through this awesome publication, you will notice that every single bit of knowledge or images have come straight from the area’s resources.

Fast-forward to the launch party – an exclusive event held a couple of weeks ago at the Davis Center in Millcreek Park.  After getting to see the magazine for the first time, all I could say was wow.  It is gorgeous in print and is available from all of the vendors listed in the resource gallery (including myself).  If you can’t wait for the hard copy, it is also available on-line. Jennifer and Karen have done an amazing job of putting this all together.  I’m proud to be a part of it.  It is exactly what it says it is – The Premier Wedding Resource of Eastern Ohio & Western Pennsylvania.

This time of year in PA is just crazy weather-wise.  One day it’s freezing, next day it’s hot, then it’s raining…you get the idea (especially if you live here).  When I met Steve and Jennifer for their session at Westminster College, it was so cold.  But by the time we were finishing up an hour later, I was sweating.  Regardless of the weather, it is always a beautiful place to shoot at and I really enjoyed my session with these two.  Steve is a musician and so we talked about music and we all got to know each other a little better.  I was also told Steve got his wedding gift early and being a techie, I’m quite jealous of his brand new IPad. 😉

Looking forward to the wedding in Spring!

Probably one of the coolest stories I’ve heard lately…Amberly moved all the way from Iowa to meet her soul mate and…they share the same last name (no relation, of course).  That’s right…she doesn’t even have to bother changing her name when they exchange their vows next summer.  I don’t think you realize what a pain that can be, until you actually do it.  🙂

They’ll be getting married close by in New Castle, but they both loved the idea of a city session along with some Fall color in the background.  So we met up in Pittsburgh…one of my favorite areas to shoot in.  They both had great style and are a stunning couple.  Here are some of my favorites from their session.

I love this one.

Amberly's shoes rocked. 🙂

Could be my favorite from the day...

Looking forward to the wedding next year!

The past few weeks, I’ve had the opportunity of photographing some great seniors…from football players to a city girl, the best thing about these sessions is how unique they are to the individual.  Mike is a senior in Salem and an amazing athlete (I’ve been told).  So we headed to Reilly Field for a few shots in his jersey and then to the park for what I like to call the mom shots.  You know the guys…most want the “tough” shot, but mom is going to make them dress up for a few and why shouldn’t she.  It’s a parent’s last chance to get their child to take pictures the way they want them to look.  🙂  Both turned out great.  Thank you, Diana, for returning to me this year with your second graduating son.  It was a total pleasure!

The wall was painted white, so this worked out perfect!
