The end of 2010 has come and time for the “Best of” post, once again.  It seems like I was just writing this post for 2009!  It’s been such an awesome year and I can’t help but reflect on all that we’ve been blessed with.

Professionally, I had some pretty exciting things happening.  I was asked to be part of this new publication – Metropolitan Wedding.  I did a groomsmen shoot for them at Buhl Mansion and there are 8 gorgeous spreads in their inaugural edition covering that day!  Plus they featured spreads of images of two couples that I worked with in the real wedding section, an interview with me discussing current wedding photography trends and lots of other images throughout the magazine.  It was such an amazing experience.  A launch party in October officially sent the magazine into circulation.  It is a great resource for couples in the surrounding areas and I’m proud to be part of it.  As if that didn’t make my year, I became a Certified Professional Photographer this past summer (yay!).  In 2009, I started training my husband knowing that this year, I wanted him to become a big part of my business.  He now shoots most weddings with me.  He runs a business of his own (as a builder), but has an awesome eye for photography and I’m so excited when he is able to come along and shoot with me.  He and I made so many cool new friends along the way this year.

On a personal note, we welcomed a new nephew (who is also my Godson) to the family.  William (or Will-Liam as my little Liv calls him) came a little early, but he’s now six months and doing great.  Our little girl started pre-school and dance in the Fall.  She’s loving every minute of both of them and we can’t believe how fast she is growing up.  We did tons of fun stuff including her first real roller coaster ride on the Jack Rabbit (she’s ridden it five times since then) and I’m looking forward to the coming year (which could include her first visit to Disney World).  We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in October, but in reality we’ve been together nearly 20 years.  Two decades – there’s something to be said about choosing to spend your life with your best friend.  To top off the end of this year, I had a pretty big birthday this December and a couple of nights ago – my husband surprised me when I came home to a house full of people that included our friends’ band (The Fabulous Flashbacks) playing the Beatles’ Birthday song for me when I walked in (I love The Beatles and they always cover their songs so perfectly!).  It was overwhelming and wonderful!  I want to thank my husband and everyone involved for pulling together such a great party without me having a clue.

2011 is looking to be a pretty great year.  The wedding season is completely full of the cutest and coolest couples who I can’t even begin to thank.  I can’t wait for every single one of your weddings!  And I just confirmed that the summer of 2011 will include a session on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware that I’m already looking forward to.  🙂

So…needless to say, I had a really hard time choosing my favorites.  I have way too many.  If you go back thru my blog, you will see tons of images that I loved from each session and wedding, but I haven’t posted a lot of personal stuff.  So this year, my best of is including a few pics from my life at the end along with the few (but definitely not all) of my 2010 favs.  I want to thank everyone I had the opportunity to meet, work with, become friends with…you all are awesome and have made it a wonderful year.  Looking forward to what 2011 holds for us.  Wishing you the very best and happiest New Year!!!
