Kelly and Chris’ April wedding could have gone either way weather-wise. I checked the weather two weeks before and it said 70 degrees and sunny, but by the time we got to the 28th – it was 46 and sleeting. Although, their outdoor wedding was not meant to be – their union definitely was (just look at those smiles). By the time the ceremony was over, the rain/sleet had stopped and we were able to get some beautiful and really fun images outside. These two wanted to do something different, they had told me when they met me. So Chris brought (I believe 23 all together) Nerf guns and the battle ensued. We had a great time with all of them. Congratulations, Kelly & Chris, and thank you for having us as part of your day!

Just wanted to take a minute to congratulate the newly titled, Dr. Liz! She graduated last weekend and we met a little while back on one of those gorgeous days in March -when she asked me to take her graduation pictures. I’m so glad she did! Liz is absolutely beautiful and was a lot of fun to work with. I love how these all came out and I must get a pair of those shoes. Best of luck to you, Liz, and your new career!

Check out these two cutie brothers I had the opportunity to photograph! While mom took some time to put down the little guy for some sleepy shots, big brother and I headed outside and he showed me some of his best superhero moves and even gave me the thumbs up. So adorable! (Love that wall in the bedroom.)

A few weeks ago, Angie and I met up with another super sweet couple of mine – Carri & Roy, for their park session. They told me that they loved the water, so we did a few overlooking Glacier Lake, but then I took them down by The Lily Pond. Wow, those geese are persistent! They followed us all around the pond and although there are signs up that say “do not feed wildlife” – I’m pretty sure somebody is feeding these guys and they were pretty sure that we might, too. They were starting to freak Carri out (okay, I’ll admit they were freaking me out, too).

Can’t wait for the wedding, which is coming up quick!

I am so excited for Jessica and Josh’s August wedding for many reasons! The main one is that Jessica and Josh are just as sweet as you can possibly get. Their love was very easy to capture and we had so much fun, even though it was like 2 degrees out that day! Really, it was freezing – and they were awesome enough to go without coats for a few perfect shots (thanks, you two!). Jessica has just been a sweetheart from the day she first contacted me – from choosing her date based on my availability (she said she knew she wanted me as her photographer even before they were engaged) and then being a self-proclaimed “stalker” of my blog . That she has such trust and faith in what I do, makes me completely thrilled to be able to transfer that energy into their day.

Thank you, Angie, for coming out with us that cold cold day! Angie is learning the ropes, as she will be assisting me part-time this year. She has such an awesome eye (picture #2 is her perspective) and was a huge help. If you have ever been to White House, their resident dog (Maggie?) will completely haunt you if you throw her stick even once. I made the mistake of tossing it out of the picture and that was it. Angie was able to get her back up to the parking lot and out of our session.

I have been dying to blog this one, but have been struggling with updating the site and the blog all at the same time. Yes, I am still working on my site update. It is mostly complete and I should be there soon (fingers crossed).

I was really excited for this session. I knew it was going to be amazing. Angie (Maizie’s mom) has such an eye for styling, she should definitely be getting paid for it and seriously, if you are thinking of having a stylized engagement or any other type of session – you should consider hiring her. She is, in fact, working along side of me as one of my wedding assistants this year and I’m really excited about that, too! But back to the session, Angie had some really great ideas and an endless supply of cool props. Maizie is gorgeous and should be a model, so it was quite easy to see how this was going to go….

I can’t wait to photograph Angie’s girls, again! Always gorgeous and fun!! Thanks so much, Maizie & Angie!

Winter sessions are completely dreamy. The way the light sparkles on the snow. The glowy (is that a word?) quality of the light. While some don’t understand why anyone would want to bare the freezing cold for a Winter engagement, I totally get it. I had quite a few scheduled this year, so my couples get it, too! Hannah & Matt met me on a snowy day in Sharon and it was perfect. I love how their session turned out. The park was gorgeous and they were pros. Can’t wait for their Summer wedding!

My poor blog has been sooo neglected. I blame it on battery recharge…my own (not my computer’s). But no more excuses…Spring seems to finally be springing and with that – wedding season is about to begin! Kelly & Chris’ wedding will be my first of 2012 and I’m excited! They’re a very sweet couple and they chose a gorgeous venue to wed at. Succop Conservancy has amazing grounds and an over 100-year-old mansion. It has definitely been one of my favorite spots in the past.

We met up on a very rainy day in Pittsburgh to shoot their engagement and as we wandered along the north shore and through the theater district, I got to see just how sweet they are with each other. Here are some of my favorites! See you two, again, soon!

Deanna was in love with the idea of romantic pictures on the Cinderella Bridge, so that’s where we started when we met for their engagement session. We ended up by the old furnace near Pioneer Pavilion and they suggested that they climb in (which I thought was pretty awesome). You gotta love how cute these two are. And they are so sweet together. I can’t wait for their Spring wedding!
