Rebecca & Rick could not stop smiling and laughing.  Well, except for the tears when they first saw each other that day.  🙂  They seriously gave me all the feels.  So sweet.  The location they chose for their formals was, also, pretty much awesome.  I had never been to these old coke ovens before, but I definitely will be going back.  It was amazing.

The Links at Firestone was the site of their reception and they made sure they had plenty of time for more pictures there.  I had such a great time exploring with them.  I’ve been to The Links several times and didn’t realize there was a waterfall there!

A lot of great Irish details throughout the day and some beautiful embroidered doilies that meant a lot to Rebecca (here grandma had made some of them and she and her mom made the rest).

All and all, it was a perfect day.  So glad to have been a part of it!  Thank you so much for including Andie and I in your celebration, Rebecca & Rick!  🙂

Part II of the best of is all about the couples from the engagements to the weddings.  Many, many fun and awesome people that I get to work with!

Be sure to pick up your latest copy of Metropolitan Wedding.  I was invited, once again, by editor – Karen Luke – to shoot a spread for this year’s issue.  I went to The Lake Club for the bridesmaids shoot and the children’s shoot.  My little girl was, also, asked to model as a flower girl and she was a total pro.  It was so fun and I want to thank Karen for including me in this awesome resource – our area’s very own top notch wedding magazine.

At the risk of sounding like a Grammy acceptance speech, I want to thank my husband, David, for his continued support.  He is a huge help as my assistant/2nd shooter and just basic all around support.  🙂  Plus – he really caught some amazing shots this  year.  Running your own business is not easy, but he manages to do that (he is a home improvement contractor) and still takes the time to help me with my mine.  Thanks to Bill Dodd and Mike Krisuk, too, for assisting when David could not.  You guys are awesome!  I am in the process of training a good friend with a great eye who will be assisting me this year, also, and I’m really excited about that.  So some of you will be seeing a new face with me – Angie!  I know she’s going to be great.

So without further ado…here are some of my favorite shots from the 2011 engagements, weddings and day after sessions.  🙂

Emily & BJ are starting to feel like dear old friends and it’s no wonder. Since meeting them in 2009, I’ve shot their engagement, wedding, a wedding that Emily was in last Spring and will be shooting two more weddings of their friends this year (and Emily is in both of those, too)!  I shot this session as a thank you to them.  They have been great advocates of my business and I wanted to show them my appreciation for that.  It’s especially comfortable going into a session and knowing the couple so well.  I knew this was going to be an easy one…they are so relaxed with one another and I love the way they look at each other – there were a lot of people at the park that day.  In fact, it was so crowded (because of the unexpected gorgeous weather) we couldn’t even park near the suspended bridge where we originally planned to meet.  But when you see these images, it looks as if the it were just the two of them.  Beloved sessions are meant to celebrate that love and so here is a celebration of Emily & BJ’s Love….

^ These were Emily’s wedding shoes!  Aren’t they cute?

Love McConnells Mills, but that hike back up the hill always kicks my butt!  One of my secret New Year’s resolutions is to be able to climb all those stairs and not feel like I’m ready to pass out halfway to the top – lol.  It’s beautiful there and well worth the trip.  I love how Evy & Brady’s session came out.  They’ll be tying the knot this coming June.  Can’t wait!

What a gorgeous spot Kristen & Mike chose to do their engagement pictures!  As close as Moraine State Park is to me, I had never been there.  Now, I can’t wait to go back.  🙂  It’s the spot where Mike proposed, so it was perfect all around.  I LOVED the sign they brought along (and the gorgeous blanket that I wanted to take home with me).  These two are as sweet as they look and I can’t wait to be a part of their Labor Day weekend wedding this year!
