I was really excited to get out this past weekend for my first engagement of the year.  Shelby and Michael were prepared to celebrate their wedding-to-be as an engagement party was being thrown for the two of them later that day!  They are such a sweet couple and were complete naturals in front of the camera.  We met at the Rose Garden to start with just a little bit of snow on the ground, but the gardens never fail to amaze me.  So pretty and turned out to be a perfect fit for these two!  I think one of the best things about their gardens in the proximity to downtown.  I do have a deep love for Y-town…there are about a million awesome places to shoot around there, and Shelby & Michael let me  lead the way!  The result was awesome and I can’t wait for their wedding in the Fall!  🙂  Thanks for sharing the morning with me, you two!  Hope your engagement party was awesome!

If you ever met me or my assistant, Angie, or saw us on the day of the wedding – you know how easily caught up in the emotion of it all we are.  The moment tears came to Brian’s eyes as he read Caitlin’s card the morning of the wedding, we were done for.  They were both so incredibly happy and excited to be taking their vows to each other that day, it wasn’t hard at all to get the feels (is that how the new saying goes?…lol).

They continue to get me, as recently I received the sweetest thank you from them that also brought tears to my eyes.  I’m always committed to doing the absolute best job I can for my couples.  It’s an amazing feeling to hear from them that I was able to capture all those emotions and hold them in an image for them forever.  🙂  (PS – If I could plan my wedding all over, again, I would have it at The Butler…wow.)

Yes, I realize I am still blogging last year’s weddings…it’s a continuous battle for me to keep up with being a one man show and updating the blog.  🙂  Open to any advice to those of you who blog daily (or even weekly)!

But I don’t want to pass on sharing any of the beautiful weddings I’ve been honored to be a part of, so I am back to share this gorgeous day of two highschool sweethearts from my alma mater – Wilmington.  Ashley & Brian were surrounded by their friends and family last Fall.  They were all so much fun and here are some of my favorites from their day!

Ever wonder how something goes viral on the net?  I had the chance to experience that first hand the day after Desiree & Christian’s beautiful wedding.  🙂  It started out with one of the sweetest couples.  A gorgeous day and tons of amazing details, but one in particular that grabbed everyone’s attention.  Desiree had a very special relationship with her grandfather who had passed on.  In his memory, Desiree had a cut a heart out of one of her grandfather’s shirts and sewn it to her dress.  What made that different…and I what I had never seen before or since…was that she had sewn it on the outside for the world to see – and, boy, did the world see it!  Branden was the DJ that evening and he shared several photos he had taken along with the story behind the heart on Desiree’s dress.  The next day Branden and Ashley (his wife) came for dinner with a story of their own.  The post was going nuts!  Being liked and shared all over…we couldn’t stop checking it all day long (and for days afterward) and the couple was super excited, as well.  But it didn’t stop there, this was a year ago in August and on the anniversary – the post again took off!  And my Facebook page was growing in likes and I couldn’t figure out why!  That’s when I saw Branden’s post being shared, again, with an image that I took of the couple in the comments (300,000+ likes and almost 100,000 shares!).  How crazy that the internet has made the world such a small place.  The story hit the heart of so many people!  Desiree’s grandfather I’m sure is smiling down.  🙂

Here are some of my favs from that day!  It was so beautiful, Desiree & Christian, and I’m so happy to say that I was a part of it.  xoxo
